City Clerk

The City Clerk for the City of Marion is responsible for ensuring that the administrative responsibilities of the city are carried out in a prompt, efficient, and lawful manner, keeps a minute record of council meetings, maintains an ordinance book, acts as custodian of the city’s seal and records, maintains an accurate accounting system to enter all city money transactions, receipts, and disbursements, processes payroll and related tax reports, prepares and submits various government reports, maintains an awareness of constantly changing laws, rules, and regulations governing all aspects of city administrative and financial operations, corresponds with other local governments and with the League of Kansas Municipalities.

The City Clerk for the City of Marion is Angela Lange,CMC. A native of Marion, she began with the city as the Senior Accountant and Assistant City Clerk before being appointed as the City Treasurer. In April of 2006, she was appointed as the City Clerk. Ms. Lange also serves as the City of Marion Court Clerk.

Ms. Lange is a Certified Municipal Clerk, having graduated from the Certified Municipal Clerk Program at the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She is currently a member of the CCMFOA Education Committee and Co-Chair of the CCMFOA Membership/Mentoring Committee, serves on the Marion Community Christmas Committee, the Central Park Improvement Committee and the City of Marion Planning Commission.
