Mission Statement The Marion Police Department will strive to provide the best possible protection, crime prevention and sevice to the citizens of Marion . The main goal of the department will be to reduce and solve victim orientated crimes which cause irreputable long term damage to the financial and emotional well-being of our community. The Marion Police Department is comprised of 5 full-time officers, including the Chief of Police, Lieutenant Detective and three Patrol Officers, and 5 part-time officers. Chief of Police - Josh Whitwell Chief Whitwell is a graduate of Marion High School and Butler Community College with an Associates Degree in Arts. He is currently studying for his Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Chief Whitwell began his career in Law Enforcement as an officer with the Marion Police Department, became a Deputy Sheriff with the Marion County Sheriff's Department, and came back to the Marion Police Department in 2007 as the Chief of Police. As a Law Enforcement Officer, he believes that trust is the number one attribute an officer can have and strives to maintain a trustworthy department that is fair and courteous to the public.
