Utility Service & Billing

Connect Utilities

To get your utilities connected, please visit City Hall. To connect your utilities, you will need to fill out a Utility Service Application. You will also be required to pay a $125.00 non-refundable connection fee. The connection fee is waived if you provide a letter of credit from your previous gas, electric or water utility provider.

Automatic Withdrawl

If you would like to, you can arrange to have your utility bill automatically paid from your bank account by turning in a Direct Utilities Payment Form.

Bill Due Date

Your water, sewer and trash charges will arrive together on one bill. Your utility bill is due on or before the 15th of each month. If you have questions regarding your utility bill, please contact the Utility Billing Clerk Becky Makovec at (620) 382-3703.

Payment Arrangements

If you need to make arrangements with the City of Marion for payments on your your utility bill, please download the Payment Agreement Form, complete and sign it and return it in person to the City Offices. A payment agreement is not in effect until the attached form is completed, signed by you and agreed to and signed by a City of Marion representative.

Disconnected Utilities

If your utilities are disconnected for non payment, the past due bill amount and a reconnect fee of $50.00 will be required before the utilities will be reconnected, during regular business hours.

Utilities Fees

Trash Cart

If you would like to purchase a polycart for your trash, you can buy a 95 gallon one from the city for $80.00. Contact the city offices to purchase one.

Light Rental

A dusk to dawn light rental is $9.00 per month. The City will maintain the light.

Meter Insulators

Meter insulators are available for sale at City Hall for $8.00. Meters should be insulated from October 30th to April 1st. Customers with a frozen meter will be charged a $30.00 replacement charge.
